The most spectacular construction project when we were there was this huge building with a pointed scalloped roof. It was directly across the river from the Kuching waterfront, and will dominate the view when it is completed. It will be the new home of the Sarawak government Legislative Assembly (akin to a State Legislature in the USA.) Other government buildings were also constructed with a real sense of style, and were not just concrete lumps.
